Mono Tanz provided firmware updates for Drum machines, Synthesizers, Samplers and other Music equipment for many years, both on Reverb and eBay worldwide. We have reached a point, where it is no longer worth to run a store selling eproms with firmware, on portals like Reverb and eBay, as these websites has been widely affected with local, European and international regulations to make the administration burden and existence absurd. We still want to ensure, that end-users still have the ability to update their devices, therefore is availability & knowledge very important.

This is how it works:

1. After the order you will receive the Binary incl. the instructions of what Eprom(s) types you need per download link.
2. You can place an order with the binary at an online-burning service, like buyicnow.com or use your own Eprom burner.

Above will not only give you a lower price point, but also higher quality than any crook-store found on eBay or Reverb etc..

 

Introduction

Firmware update 2.6 is the latest official released operation system by Roland and this operation system update/upgrade requires one eprom chip.

Should I choose 2.6 or 4.0?

Keep in mind that both are identical in regard to the feature/improvement list below. 4.0 is based on version 2.6 and has been optimised for users who want to replace their factory display with a modern OLED.

Features/improvements:

1) Increases the resolution of a transmitted MIDI data “Pitch Bender Change”; from 9 bits to 14 bits

2) Correct LCD misdisplay taking “Successive TUNE/FUNT or MIDI writing” against MEMORY PROTECT

3) Change MIDI exclusive receiving routine to relieve one JU‑1 from: being its certain functions, expect keyboard play, disturbed by a received exclusive message including TONE NAME sent from the other JU‑1

4) Eliminate discrepancy between parameter value and LCD indication in TONE MODIFY mode. If ALPHA‑DIAL is overturned past an “extreme” on the display in TONE MODIFY mode, a parameter follows the rotation up to several turns, incrementing or declementing its value. Returning the dial, however, does not allow the display to keep the “extreme” indication waiting for the parameter value to match. (i.e. The indication shifts toward the center, leaving the discrepancy between the extreme and the over-value. Ver. 1.5 defeats the ALPHA‑DIAL output exceeding an extreme.
