This is firmware update 3.01 and is the latest official released operation system by Ensoniq Corp. This operation system update/upgrade requires two eprom chips as revealed in the article`s photos and the chips will be labeled to help you locate the correct chip socket. Installation:

You need the swap the eprom chips in socket UPPER and LOWER.

How to check software version:
1. Press Edit Seq/Preset.
2. While holding down bank 9, press Screen 1
3. KS-32 should now show OS version as X.XX
 

Improvements/features:

• OS 3.01 provides bug fixes related to midi communication, system code issues
• Apparently some units had an issue with the front panel locking up, which this rev fixed..
