Ensoniq SQ-80 – Final OS revision update/upgrade: Version 1.8 HW
This is firmware update 1.8 and is the latest official released operation system by Ensoniq Corp. This operation system update/upgrade requires two eprom chips as revealed in the eBay article`s photos and the chips will be labeled to help you locate the correct chip socket. For more info, please check below.
Check current firmware:
Hold [Record] and press [Master] while powering and the software version will be displayed on screen.
Installation:
You need the swap the eprom chips in socket U16 and U20.
Improvements/features:
The 1.8HW OS is identical to the standard 1.8 OS, with the addition of 180 waveform selections. Among these ‘hidden waveforms’ there are many ‘glitch’ type of sounds and many selections change waveforms every octave.
Note:
- The Ensoniq ESQ-80 is not for sale, only the update/upgrade.
- KPC EPROM version 1.5 IS NOT INCLUDED which may be needed for older units, but can be provided.
