√ 3 x Binaries

√ Documentation about requirements.

Intention:

Mono Tanz provided firmware updates for Drum machines, Synthesizers, Samplers and other Music equipment for many years, both on Reverb and eBay worldwide. We have reached a point, where it is no longer worth to run a store selling eproms with firmware, on portals like Reverb and eBay, as these websites has been widely affected with local, European and international regulations to make the administration burden and existence absurd. We still want to ensure, that end-users still have the ability to update their devices, therefore is availability & knowledge very important.

This is how it works:

  1. After the order you will receive the Binary incl. the instructions of what Eprom(s) types you need per download link.
  2. You can place an order with the binary at an online-burning service, like buyicnow.com or use your own Eprom burner.

Above will not only give you a lower price point, but also higher quality than any crook-store found on eBay or Reverb etc..

Features/improvements: [Version 1.16 Gligli]

Firmware revision 1.16 was a special OS developed by third-part called Gligli, while the latest release from Oberheim was 1.11. This operation system update/upgrade requires one eprom chip. For more info, please check below.

  • Faster processing of parameter changes that require a modulation matrix rebuild. There is still a bit of lag but much better than older firmware revisions.
  • Midi NRPN parameter edit fix (as introduced in 1.14).
  • Unison detune, controlled by MIDI CC #94 (Celeste Level), value from 0 (no detune) to 127 (strongly out of tune). It is always active, even in poly mode. Values around 2-6 add a slow VCO-like detune that helps liven up the sound and keeps poly mode sounding in tune.

Features/improvements: [Version 1.2 Nordcore]

Firmware revision 1.2x was a special OS developed by third-part called Nordcore, while the latest release from Oberheim was 1.11. This operation system update/upgrade requires one eprom chip. For more info, please check below.

  • Improved – midi parameters for envelopes, lfo ,VCF etc.
  • Added – Detune
  • Fixed – Bugs from previous OS revisions
  • Fixed – Sustain Level of Envelope 1 is impossible to set by MIDI (SysEx Remote Parameter Edit command)
  • Fixed – Envelope 2 to VCA 2 (parameter 29) cannot be set individually but only sending the entire set of patch data
  • Fixed – VCF Frequency (parameter 21) update is much more sluggish than in case of the rest of parameters

Features/improvements: [Patch Rom]

The Patch eprom is where all the 999 presets patches are included and it is common that these gets issues in the long run and the end-user experience corrupt or missing patches. The patch eprom is also needed for devices which are older than 1.05 and want to upgrade to 1.16 or 1.20. This requires one eprom.

Note:

  • The patch EPROM needed for older units that currently have version 1.05 or older. This is the latest version of the operating system.  The version installed on your unit is displayed briefly when the unit is turned on.
