Intention:

Mono Tanz provided firmware updates for Drum machines, Synthesizers, Samplers and other Music equipment for many years, both on Reverb and eBay worldwide. We have reached a point, where it is no longer worth to run a store selling eproms with firmware, on portals like Reverb and eBay, as these websites has been widely affected with local, European and international regulations to make the administration burden and existence absurd. We still want to ensure, that end-users still have the ability to update their devices, therefore is availability & knowledge very important.

This is how it works:

1. After the order you will receive the Binary incl. the instructions of what Eprom(s) types you need per download link.
2. You can place an order with the binary at an online-burning service, like buyicnow.com or use your own Eprom burner.

Above will not only give you a lower price point, but also higher quality than any crook-store found on eBay or Reverb etc..

 

Introduction:

This is firmware update version 2.0 for Masterboard and version 941205 for the Voiceboard, which is the latest official released operation system by Oberheim. This operation system update set requires two eprom chips .

 

Features/improvements:

• Bug fixes related to midi communication and system code issues.
• Improved envelopes

 

Bonus:

The Calibration firmware also included in this kit, which make you able to calibrate your Oberheim OB-mx. The procedure requires an oscilloscope and an expansion card that provides access to the motherboard when the power is on. Many “technical services” have this kind of card and are quite capable of performing the procedure.

 

Factory Initialization:

I would recommend to perform a factory initialization after installing the main OS and the new voice OS.

Hold both keys, while you power the Oberheim OB-Mx

 

Note:

• If you have more than one voiceboard installed, please contact me before buying due to that it is recommend having the same Voice OS on all the voiceboards.
• IC socket on Voiceboard is located at U5
• IC socket on Masterboard is located at U7
