Mono Tanz provided firmware updates for Drum machines, Synthesizers, Samplers and other Music equipment for many years, both on Reverb and eBay worldwide. We have reached a point, where it is no longer worth to run a store selling eproms with firmware, on portals like Reverb and eBay, as these websites has been widely affected with local, European and international regulations to make the administration burden and existence absurd. We still want to ensure, that end-users still have the ability to update their devices, therefore is availability & knowledge very important.

This is how it works:

1. After the order you will receive the Binary incl. the instructions of what Eprom(s) types you need per download link.
2. You can place an order with the binary at an online-burning service, like buyicnow.com or use your own Eprom burner.

Above will not only give you a lower price point, but also higher quality than any crook-store found on eBay or Reverb etc..

 

Introduction – Red Sound DarkStar OS Version 1.09:

Firmware revision Version 1.09 is the latest and likely final released operating system issued by Dark Sound Systems.

Features/improvements:

• The OS Version 1.09 upgrade provides bug fixes and finalized system code optimizations
• Fixing the glide-time and stereo panning problems.

Note:

• This update/upgrade is only for 32-pin version and will not work for the 28-pin pin edition (please check before buying)
• This update/upgrade does not work for XP2.

 

Introduction – Red Sound DarkStar OS Version Vocoda

Firmware Vocoda was an optional upgrade, which turn your device into a fully featured vocoder issued by Dark Sound Systems.

Features/improvements:

• 11-band filtering / noise generation
• Combine external sounds (voice or loops) with an external sound source for classic vocoder sounds, that’s the Standard Vocoder mode (1). Use the DARKSTAR’s internal osc. and ‘S’ detector for true ‘robotic’ style vocoding (2). The Filter Mode (3) can be used to process any stereo signal through the 11-band stereo filter for cool filter sweeps. The Sequence-coder Mode (4) and Synthesizer Mode (5) use the 8-step formant sequencer to control the vocoder filters on external sounds or the internal oscillators. Additional MIDI envelope control, vocoder phrase step-recording, 15 preset vowels via sound palette, and more!
• I can provide the over-lay in 300 dpi, so you can print it out yourself and use it with your device.
