Mono Tanz provided firmware updates for Drum machines, Synthesizers, Samplers and other Music equipment for many years, both on Reverb and eBay worldwide. We have reached a point, where it is no longer worth to run a store selling eproms with firmware, on portals like Reverb and eBay, as these websites has been widely affected with local, European and international regulations to make the administration burden and existence absurd. We still want to ensure, that end-users still have the ability to update their devices, therefore is availability & knowledge very important.

 

This is how it works:

1. After the order you will receive the Binary incl. the instructions of what Eprom(s) types you need per download link.
2. You can place an order with the binary at an online-burning service, like buyicnow.com or use your own Eprom burner.

Above will not only give you a lower price point, but also higher quality than any crook-store found on eBay or Reverb etc..

 

Introduction [2.00]

This is the Factory and latest known official released operation system by Roland.

Version 2.00 upgrade is intended to iron out any remaining bugs affecting general stability and improve performance within the firmware code.

Introduction [3.00]

This is firmware update version 3.0 and is a third part-developed operation system. This operation system update / upgrade requires one eprom chip. For more info, please check below.

Features/improvements:

At the heart of the PG-1000 there’s a chip with an OS custom made by Roland to only control the D-50 or D-550 synthesizer via Sysex. By exchanging this eprom chip with the original roland chip you’d be able to turn your PG-1000 into a MIDI fader box capable of sending 127 MIDI continuous controller messages on any of its faders. This will allow you to control other synths in your collection and also computer base soft synths. No soldering needed. Just pop the roland chip out of its socket and pop this one in instead. You can have up to 64 saved configurations inside the chip. That covers most people’s needs (unless you have over 64 synths in your collection) ”
